Where disassembly of parts is expected, the taper pin, which can be easily driven out of its sized hole, is a useful fastening element. The cylindrical pin is made with a taper of 1/4" per foot measured on the diameter and with rounded or beveled ends to facilitate driving in reamed holes.

Taper Pins are preferred for parts which have to be taken apart frequently and when driving out the Cylindrical Pins, would tend to wear the holes and also to very accurate constructed tools and gauges which have to be kept in absolute alignment.

Taper Pins are manufactured as per IS : 6688 or DIN - 1 or BS - 46

Internal / External Threaded Taper Pins are used for extraction of the pins more conveniently. External & Internal Threaded Taper Pins are made and supplied in soft condition DIN 1977. Ext. Thread Taper Pins can also be manufactured to DIN - 258 or to Customers Specifications.
