Grooved Pins
Grooved Pins are parallel pins with three equi-spaced longitudinal grooves They are rolled or pressed into the cylindrical body to deform the pin stock outward within controlled limits.; When this pin is forced into drilled hole of proper diameter, a locking fit is obtained. Only a straight drilling hole is required and no reaming is needed. A few of them are illustrated above. Grooved Pins are manufactured from C-40 (EN-8) matrial. They are supplied in soft condition and natural finish unless otherwise specified by the customer. Our manufacturing rage for grooved pins is from 2 to 6 mm in diameter and 5 to 150 mm in length

Positive holding action with six standard solid pin types and many specials.
Sizes: 1/16" through 1/2" diameter
1/4" through 4-1/2" long
High alloy, heat treated pins for extra shear, shock and fatigue resistance
Materials: Cold drawn low carbon steel is standard. Other materials available.
Finishes: Zinc electroplating is standard. Other finishes available.

GROOVED PIN WITH
UNDER CUT (DIN-1469)

This type Pins have three tapered grooves extending one-half the length of the pin.  This type is widely used as a hinge or pivot Pin. Driven or pressed into a straight drilled hole, the grooved portion locks in one part, while the ungrooved portion will remain free. Also excellent for dowel and locating applications.

STRAIGHT PIN WITH GUIDE END (DIN-1470

This pins have three full-length parallel grooves. They are recommended for applications requiring maximum locking effect where severe vibration and /or shock loading are present.

GROOVED TAPER PINS
(DIN-1471)

Socket Pin has three reverse taper grooves extending one-half the length of the pin. Recommended for use in blind holes as a stop pin, roller pivot, dowel, or for certain hinge or linkage applications. Reverse taper grooves permit easy insertion in blind holes.

HALF LENGTH GROOVED PINS (DIN-1472)

This pin has tree parallel half-length grooves including pilot. It is a very versatile pin, suitable for use in both blind and through holes as a spring anchor pin. The annular groove opposite the locking end is used to anchor the end loop of a tension spring. If snap or retainer rings are to be used, special section annular grooves can be machined or order.

GROOVED DOWEL PINS
(DIN-1473)

This pin has three full-length tapered grooves.  This popular type is used in applications requiring excellent locking effect and ease of assembly. It is widely used in place of taper pins, rivets, set screws and keys. Typical applications include keying sprockets, gears, collars, knobs, handles, levers and wheels to shafts.

SOCKET GROOVED PINS
(DIN-1474)

This pin has parallel half-length grooves located equidistant from each end. Widely used as T handle on valves and tools. Also used as a cross pin, cotter pin, pivot pin etc. where center locking is required

KNUCKLE (LOCKING) GROOVED PINS (DIN-1475)

This pins have three full-length parallel grooves with a short
pilot end to ensure easy starting. They are recommended for applications requiring maximum locking effect where severe vibration and /or shock loading are present.

ROUND HEAD GROOVED PINS (DIN-1476)
This pins are widely used for fastening light metal or plastic parts to heavier members. They replace screws, rivets, peened pins and other types of fasteners in applications such as attaching name plates, covers, brackets, spring etc. The standard stud has a round head, Three parallel grooves impressed on the shank of the stud provide the same positive, vibration and shock-free holding.
